Fundraising - Glasgow Airport endorses the Teddy Bear Foundation as one of their Main Charities.

Things are really taking off for the Teddy Bear Foundation – after staff at Glasgow Airport endorsed it as one of their main charities.
Cash will be raised from a whole year of fund raising events, beginning with an exclusive Raffle which only airport employees can enter.

Canadian airline Air Transat donated two free seats on their inaugural flight from Glasgow to Montreal in May 2016.
And Thomas Cook Airlines chipped in with four free return flights to Orlando in Florida.

The support for our charity is the brainchild of Salvation Army Commissioner Keith Banks, who acts as the Chaplain to the airport.
He explained:”When I started working here five years ago, I floated the idea of a Chaplain-nominated charity.
“We have a variety of fund raising events going on here.  We have a Flightpath Fund, which, since 2010, has distributed over £1 million to 350 charities located beneath the areas where our aircraft fly.

“But the Chaplain’s charity is down to me.  Last year, we raised £6400 for the Teenage Cancer Trust and we hope to match – or better – that this year.”
He said he had a look at the Teddy Bear Foundation website and was mightily impressed.
He said:”It told the story of its work very well.  I’m sure the fact that the charity is Scottish-based will chime with the airport employees as well.
“I can’t force anyone to join in but the Chaplaincy enjoys quite a high profile in the airport.
“We enjoy the support from everyone – from the managing director down.  We expect all sorts of people to get involved, including the Border Force, Check-In staff, air crew, retail outlets, bars and restaurants.
“And remember, there are between 4500 and 5000 people working at the airport."

So the Teddy Bear Foundation will benefit from a whole year of fund-raising.
